Isotroin 5mg Capsule is an acne treatment developed by Cipla.

It is a generic version of Accutane and is characterized by a red, oval-shaped pill.

Effects of Isotroin 5mg

Isotretinoin, the main component of isotroin, is a vitamin A derivative that has the effect of shrinking sebaceous gland cells and suppressing sebum secretion.

By causing sebaceous glands to recede, pores become smaller.

Acne-causing bacteria such as P. acnes and Staphylococcus aureus hide in pores and sebaceous glands, but by shrinking pores and sebaceous glands, the number of acne-causing bacteria is reduced.

As a result, acne heals faster and new acne is less likely to form.

How to take Isotroin 5mg

Timing of taking

Take 1 tablet once daily, during or after meals . Please continue

taking this medicine for 3 to 6 months

After that, please allow at least a 2 month drug break .

Approximate dosage

Basically, take 1 tablet (10mg to 20mg) once a day.
The dose may be increased to 40mg after 2 to 3 months.

Men who are overweight can start with 40 mg per day.

If side effects are tolerable, the dose may be increased to 60 mg per day. It is prohibited

to take more than 60 mg per day, regardless of body weight .

Main side effects

• There is no problem in using steroids used to treat asthma or topical steroids for atopic dermatitis.
